Explore the sky from Mars

Preparing the stars, Sun, Phobos, and Deimos for Olympus Mons.

About marstronomy

The sky, from Mars

Marstronomy is an interactive astronomy experiment by Amwal. It explores what the sky looks like from Olympus Mons on the Martian surface.

Watch the stars, Sun, Phobos, and Deimos move through time. Drag to look around, scroll to change your field of view, and use the time and speed controls to explore a Martian day. Toggle the coordinate grids, constellations, and solar haze to see different aspects of the sky.

The viewer is built for exploration. The moons use simplified orbits and visual approximations, rather than precision ephemerides.
